A Welcome Weekend of Relaxation
This weekend was definitely a mental health weekend well spent. The campout was everything I was hoping it would be and actually it seemed to me more true to the form of the original Chippewa campouts than those the past few years at Bob's place. A good number of people showed up, including 3 from Kentucky, but the atmosphere still held the feeling of a close knit group. The fighting was awesome to watch though I ended up heralding the whole time. The tourneys were fun even if I am rustier than I thought I was... Did fairly well in single blue. The partying rocked. Drumming and singing and dancing, oh my! And huzzah for Black Company cuz damn those guys are gorgeous! And meeting the Dark Wolves was great as well. I would have to say that allying with Thorrin and his men was the best thing Fianna has done in one hell of a long time.
I would say the only small damper on the whole weekend was that in an effort to keep partying under control on Saturday night, Tethrin took a little more of an attitude towards me than I thought I deserved. For one thing, I kept things damn well under control friday night and had barely had a sip or two Saturday when he yelled at me. I completely understand not wanting under age drinking and am perfectly happy to behave myself, I have no problem with him asking me not to drink, but there was no need to be such an ass to me when I had been helping keep things from getting out of hand myself. Oh well... That and the fact that my digital camera may mistakenly be on its way to Columbus at the moment. Oh well... perhaps it will give me another excuse to play with Black Company.
I got home Sunday afternoon and fell asleep, dead to the world, I woke up this morning with wonderful memories spinning in my head and planning the next bout of fun. Looks like the Fianna Thanksgiving feast next month and then Yule feast in December will give me something to look forward to for awhile.
Life is so good!
On an interesting note though: I felt absolutely no adverse withdrawal symptoms this last weekend except perhaps being a little tired at times. But sitting here in the student union right now, the dizziness and disconnected feelings are back... Strange what good company and fresh air can do for you.
