Quite A Day
May, I just say that I have found one of the few jobs where mondays are one of the best days of the week? Mondays are free day at the zoo for Cuyahoga County residents and we are always inundated with tons of people of all calibers. Any other department will readily regail you about how terrible mondays are with too many people being rude and impatient and ignorant but we in the show department love them! They make amazing audiences! Responsive, good humored, willing to participate, always there in droves... I love them. And what a better audience for me to try my first hand at the doctor character in the show. That's right, Dr. Hannah Zoolittle! It was awesome and terrifying at the same time. I now am officially the first person to have mastered all the roles in both shows this summer.
Other exciting things that happened today include Choctaw (the alligator I am training) running into his carrier from 6 feet! That is a two feet jump from what he has been doing but he is such a champ!!! I am very excited to try him out on stage soon so that I can get a video tape of the behavior for my project but I have to keep reminding myself to be patient. Soon!!!
And in other news I picked up Mali the fennec fox and came away with only mild bite wounds. So I decided to prove I was insane and picked her up a second time and fully intend to keep picking her up at least until she stops drawing blood. *smirk* Really, she seems just to be testing my reaction and I think she will stop once she realizes I do not care and once I am more confident in my actions picking her up. Or I might just be insane...
So I am feeling lovely and worn out from the jog I just went on. I really do think that exercise is as good as meditation to clear away a days worries and focus your energy for the next. And as I am focused now, off I go to bed...
Huggles!!!
