Ecstacy

I would happily like to say, that for the first time this year, I honestly had a magnificent weekend with no bad moments at all!

My new position at the zoo is phenomenal! I adore working with Jim, Katie, and Ian. And once Stephanie, Tracy, and Joe join the staff, it's going to be even better! It does entail a decent amount of hard, physical work, especially a lot of hiking from this location to that and back 50 times during the day. My thighs and calfs are screaming at me, but I'm sure I'll be in awesome shape in no time at all! I love the animals too. Saturday we took the stork up to the vets to check on his "sniffles". And sunday we did a lot of training. We flew the kookabura and the guinea fowl. Walked the sloth (which really involves the sloth hanging onto a rolling tree that we move around). And Jim even let me handle the egyptian vulture though he made clear to me that he normally wouldnt let anyone handle him on their second day. *beams* It's going to be a great summer.

I even made it to fight on saturday. I'm way out of practice but I had fun. And afterwards Caitlin and I braved the highway to go see dad's band play and hung out with Thorn, Moonhead, Tinman, and Joe. It was a lot of fun. I couldn't believe that Jordan even let us take his car! And I think Dad really liked having us there to watch. I miss being up on stage. Dad wants me to work on a song and maybe come up and sing as a guest vocalist sometime during a gig! I'm so excited!

*pout* I don't get to go back to the zoo until a week from Thursday though because this weekend I have to help host the national speech tournament at the University. *pout* I'm not really looking forward to it, but it might turn out to be enjoyable. Here's hoping!
