Forever and a Day

Hello! It certainly has been forever since I have found the time to post here. Life has been crazy! But excellent as always of course. Alas, much as I have not had time to write here, I have not had time to start writing my book. But just you wait, it will rock your socks! I did find time to read Harry Potter though...

Anyhow, I just got home from hanging out with my zoo friends for the third night in a row. And I will keep this relatively short because sleep might be a good thing for my sanity. Friday night we went to a Mexican place called Lauriol Plaza for dinner but with the not so secret ulterior motive of awesome margaritas. Then it was off to a random bar for more drinks and dancing. It was fun, though I never feel quite comfortable in the bar scene. When I got back to the metro station on the way home, turns out I missed the last bus and had to walk an hour from the station to my house. I was slightly inebriated, exhausted, and terrified. I practically screamed bloody murder at the two strangers who stopped and asked if I needed a ride. Seriously, did you expect me to say yes?! Anyway, somehow I survived the next day at work and then went to a friend's house warming party. That was lovely with amazing gourmet food and cats for me to get my feline fix from. ((I miss my kitties!!!)) That kept me out and awake until 1ish. No wonder I overslept this morning and had to go tearing into work. Note to self: mentally willing the subway train to go faster apparently breaks it because we ended up with a 15 minute delay. Ever the glutton for punishment, I again elected to accept my friend's invitation and went to a BBQ tonight. Luckily, at this point everyone else was exhausted too and after some yummy grilled veggies and a half hearted game of yahtzee we headed to our respective domiciles. Hooray for being social!

Last weekend was amazing too. I flew to Wisconsin for my cousin's wedding. It was lovely to see my family and relax a little. It was a great wedding too. Everything was done eco-friendly (they managed to only have one bag of trash from the whole 250 person wedding!) And it was relaxed and good humored just the way such things should be. It was held on my Aunt's prairie which is one of my favorite places in the world. And I sang! In front of 250 people! And they loved it! My cousin Daniel who is a great musician says I should really consider a career in music, which is flattering beyond words. He recommended a place out here that does open sessions of irish music and I think I am going to check it out. =)

Anyways, so much for keeping this short... But I don't have much of a chance of sleeping right now anyways because my housemates are blaring samba music. Lol, if they weren't creepy and didn't hit on me constantly I might go hang out with them...

Btw, the monkeys are great. I love my job! And I miss you all! Hopefully I will have time to update again soon, and maybe gets some pics up. In the meantime, peace love and coconuts!
Huggles!
