The Word of the Day is Pathetic

I am a lonely lonely pathetic person tonight. All I wanted to do today was go to dinner with a friend I haven't seen in forever. I can't blame her for canceling plans seeing as our mutual friend got out of the hospital unexpectedly today (yay!). But the fact that I have no one else to hang out with just depresses me. I am pathetic. All I want is someone to talk with, laugh with, cuddle with, love with... Sigh. All I ever do anymore is school, work, and sit at home procrastinating about homework. I got excited today because we stopped at the pet store to get bird seed but the cute guy never even made eye contact with me. How pathetic is that?!

In other news, my birthday is in a week! Yay for turning 21 and finally legally being able to get verschnookered in public. And I have quite a few awesome plans with my friends next weekend so perhaps I will not feel pathetic then. I hope...

Sigh and huggles

Reality Check...

You know when you feel like the rug gets pulled out from under your feet? This morning it is more of like I got hit by a tree....

One of my close friends had an accident last night and is in intensive care. It sounds pretty bad... Please, keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

The One with the Waggly Tail

Anyone who knows my philosophy on animal care knows that I hate pet stores. The majority of them ignore proper husbandry protocols and do not provide adequate education to prospective pet owners. I abhore the idea of an industry involving animals that only concerns itself with money and not the animal's well being. However, my parents buy bird seed for our parrots at a store in Akron called Two Turtles. They are a small, well run store that specializes in small animals. We stop every now and then on our way home from the university and I peruse the neat critters, usually focusing on the reptiles. I was bent over eye level with the biggest bearded dragon that I have ever seen when I heard a voice from behind. I didn't think anything of it until in the silence that followed I realized someone was standing behind me. I stood up and saw a gorgeous smile on the face of a guy. "You missed it," he told me, "He was wearing a little hat a minute ago." I giggled, thinking he was joking but he pulled a tiny origami hat off the counter and put it back on the lizard. It was adorable! He was called off to help with a customer and, beaming secretly, I went to look at the rest of the animals. After a moment he was back and asking me if I was a herp fan. Then he brought up training. We talked for several minutes until Dad had his bird seed and was ready to go. Cute boy was with a another customer when I left so I did not get to say good bye... But I think that I will be buying more bird seed in the near future. *smirk* Lord knows nothing will come of it, but I enjoy the thrill of flirting none the less.

Huggles!
